South India Trip Day 4: What happens at The Sunburn festival, India?
I woke up at around 12 noon and started working on the blog post for the previous day. I finished working around 3 pm and we decided to do the bank transfers and head off for lunch.
4.00 pm: When we were about to leave, the guy at the property told us that all the banks would be closed, we decided to go to this place for lunch, which I had spotted earlier on our way to Baga. We got on our scooter and reached 3 Stooges, It was a nice place with calm vibes.
We ordered Chicken biryani (Yayi :D), it was delicious but just a tad bit spicier than expected. At around 4.40pm, We headed off to Sunburn festival, India.
5:15 pm: We reached Sunburn festival, after squeezing through a lot of tight traffic, this time we parked our scooter at a different place and I took a picture of the location this time.
It was a 5 minute walk from the parking to the festival area, we got inside the tickets arena and got our tickets exchanged with wrist bands. There was not much hassle getting inside the festival.
We took a walk around, saw the main stage where a warm up DJ was playing. After a while we went to the drinks tent to get a few drinks. The drinks were priced at reasonable prices, with sufficient food and drink stalls.
The main stage was really beautiful, the vibes were very different from Sziget (The only other major festival I have been to). We were there for about an hour, meanwhile we tried to find my other friends who were also there. But, we couldn’t find them. The toilets were not bad at all, of course they were the festival toilets but they were good enough. I loved the mechanised toilets at Sziget though.
7.00 pm: After some dancing and a bit of strolling around, we got to the Trance stage, I was a bit tired from the dancing and the sleepless nights.
Brecht was enjoying the music much more than me, we waited till about 8.30 pm before heading off to the main stage to see Martin garrix.
8.40 pm: The stage looked completely different now, the lights were looking brilliant and the sound was pumping.
The crowd was overflowing now, there were a lot of people jumping and there was absolutely no space to move.
The festival took a new avatar now and it was pretty epic.
My back was starting to hurt a bit, the occasional fireworks and confettis did make things better.
It was funny that all the Djs played Hello(by Adele), it was getting a bit dramatic in there, haha.
10.15 pm: By now, I was struggling and we started making our way back to the scooter. We had to sneak through the tight traffic again, was quite a mess.
We heard the name Club Nyex at the mainstage, and that Sidney Samson would be playing(never heard of him anyway). We reached the place after a lot of route searching, it was a really cool place. I was kind of dead by now, we ordered Thai curry with rice and I started crashing on our table.
The food was nice, but the place had lots of mosquitoes flying around because of the trees and the beach just meters away.
1.00 am: I got a coke and I was starting to feel a bit better, we danced for a bit. I saw this bald guy coming in and the camera was zooming right at him, there were more than four cameras pointing and then I realised that It was Raghu and his brother from Roadies (Indian reality show fans must be knowing him).
We headed back home around 1.45 am. Tomorrow, I will be meeting my friend Jaya after 16 years, quite excited about that. We will be going to Sunburn festival tomorrow as well to see David guetta. it’s going to be fun 😀
Hope you enjoyed this one.
I have been struggling to find solid internet to post this, It’s funny that this is happening between the woods. I will be finishing my next post soon, Till then!
