Places with Stories: Hell, Grand Cayman

Hell, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
The weirdest place I’ve ever been to was a place called Hell. It is located in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands consisting of a group of sinister, black limestone formations covering an area roughly the size of half a football field. These deposits were formed over 24 million years.
The black rocks are said to give the area the appearance of what ”Hell” is supposed to look like.
It is also as hot as hell and is overrun with Iguanas. The place has its own post office where you can send a postcard from Hell. Wish you were here? I doubt it. However, Hell does attract large numbers of visitors especially from Caribbean cruise ships – which is how I ended up there.
Where is it?
The Cayman Island, Grand Cayman is located in the western Caribbean about 150 miles south of Cuba, 460 miles south of Miami, Florida, and 167 miles northwest of Jamaica.
