Day trip to Lucerne and Zurich
I was in Lucerne and Zurich for a day. I was not not really lucky as it rained all day, but I got to meet three of my friends from my travels before and met two new friends on the way. Here is a picture essay from the day trip to Lucerne and Zurich.
It sure did rain the entire day. This was by some lake in Lucerne
The Iconic Kapellbrücke looking pretty awesome despite the gloomy weather
Streets of Lucerne
Another cool Bridge
Everyone getting ready to make their rainy day better
Spotted this fella’ in a lake trying to find some food
Those two pointy cone structures belong to Church of St. Leodegar
Walking by the lake looks like this
Right outside the Zurich train station
Couple of bikes stranded by the Zurich lake.
Ganymed is the beautiful young boy of Zeus who was abducted and taken to Mount Olympus (Wikipedia) I found this statue a bit weird, haha.
The Zurich lake (I am sure it looks gorgeous with slightly more encouragement from the Sun)
Cobbled stoned streets of Zurich
Walking by the University of Zurich
Another 11th century church standing tall
I have never seen one of these before this. These are concert trains, they have live concerts in there with people dancing and partying. Most of us walking around were clicking pictures and trying to get a sense of things.
We retired to sit in a bar, to give some rest to our tired legs and to escape the rain. Well, drinks are not cheap here (guess you know that already). We put all our francs on the table and just enjoyed the nice music at the bar. As we just counted the change, I looked up to see that the guy next to us had bought beers for us. It might seem like a small thing, but I would say that this experience made the whole trip worth it. We got talking and this sweet couple are running strong for 10 years. Here is to them and to the amazing people who just want to see another person smile 🙂
